Month-end close for AR or how to close the month end for accounts receivable

Steps to Close the month-end for accounts receivable:
1. First, look down at the accounting date at the bottom corner side of the Home screen and make sure that the accounting date is set for the month. That means make sure it is in the same fiscal period that you are trying to close.
Below is the screenshot that shows where you can see the Accounting date:
Once you click on the accounting date calendar, it will open another screen that shows you the current set date and a calendar to choose a different date if you want.

For instance, if you would like to close April month and you need to change the accounting date. You can simply click on it and select the date. Once you select the date you want then that becomes your accounting date.

Note: If you change the accounting date, make sure to hit CTRL + F7 in Windows or Command + F7 in Mac, to refresh the cache so that all your system information on the screen is now using the chosen accounting date.
2. Second step is to go into Accounts Receivable and then close the month.
It can be done from the Side Menu:
- Accounts Receivable >> Close Month (Double click to open).
Below is the screenshot:
It will open a Close Month screen where it will show: 'You are about to close the A/R month for the Period ending April 30th' (it will show your selected date). Hit F8 to proceed further to close the month.

Once you hit F8, you will get the message as: 'Month end successfully completed.' That means month end is now closed now.

Note: If you are unable to close the month, it is because you might not have posted all your invoices for that month.

3. Third step is to change the accounting date. Now as the month is closed, you will need to change the accounting date to be in the current month so that you can do your accounting from there.
